It's a long way down and it's a long way back up again too

This is a newly built steps down the cliff at Kennedy Park, Castor Bay, Auckland, New Zealand.

Young Master 5-year-old went down and back while Miss 2-year-old only went half way. I supervised from above and took the photos...

In the distance you can see Rangitoto Island and the water of the Hauraki Gulf.

I was playing around with filters to give it an HDR-style.

As a child I used to walk under these cliffs - they are between Castor Bay and Campbells Bay - but only when the tide was out.

Hi Janice,
yes, for sure, this is a long way - but I think it is worth to climb down the stairs to that wonderful place.
The children add so much live and colours to that beautiful view, thanks, very well done.

Great Title Janice.
Whatever filters you used,I would say that you captured the HDR-style with them. The image also looks as though a Topaz filter was used?whatever filters used they certainly show sharp details.
I like that you included the land in the background,for me it added to the length of the drop, of the wooden steps. The children give perfect scale & having them that distance apart ,even more so.A strong ,vibrant image . If I could make an improvement, it may be to try for more details in the rocks on the sandy beach.

What a GRAND shot Jannie! EXCELLENT! I love the color saturation here, the perspective is excellent! You can really get a feel for just how long this stairway is! Well done!

The pov is spectacular and I feel you made a good choice to include the children, who add an element of danger as well as scale. (Not that they are dangerous, you understand, but it's a long way down!)
Like how you've used the portrait format to give that sense of depth!
