[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Before returning to any more of my Copper Canyon shots, I thought I might upload this neon-drenched telephoto of Beale Street, Home of the Blues, in Memphis, Tennessee. This shot is almost a year old, too, but still relevant because the 2010 Memphis in May celebration is coming up soon, so some of you all might want to see what you are in for should you attend.

I hear it rains every year, so bring a raincoat. Some rubber boots if you are going to attend the music festival (three days!). Learn some terms such as "Big Ass Beer", "Ain't Got Nothin' But The Blues", "split a 40", etc. Prepare to have a blast!

Memphis is a must see for all aficionados of music. It was and is a melting pot for blues, rock & roll, country, gospel and soul music. Memphis music has it's own sound, it's own feeling. What a place to enjoy it, too.

See ya on Beale this spring!

Hey neighbor!!
Good to see more shots of the Blues Festival in Memphis! Great night street shot Reed. Love all the hot neon colors. In this case the rain worked in your favor ... those colors reflected on the wet street are just great.
Nice one.
Have a good day Reed

Nice view Reed - I know this street from 20+years ago, great music on a Friday night.... I like the colour.. It would be great to see this during the preferred blue hour to give a little light in the sky and some definition to the buildings.. Else a good image for ISO1800 - the D300 has a much better sensor for low light than the D200 - what would I give for such relatively noise free handheld night photography!!

Cheers
DAvid
