Hi TL Folks!

Happy Eid for U.A.E!

These past few days the weather here has been nice and lovely. Great for an outdoor treat.
So instead of my usual place on the Jumeirah Beach i decided to go a little bit further on Um Suqueim 3, near the famous Burj Al Arab.

I climbed on the slippery rocks and waded knee deep on the surf and waited for the right moment of sunset.
Oblivious of the spray, crouching and hand-holding two layers of Cokin 4-stop ND Grad takes a lot of dexterity.
I got lucky again with 1/13 shutter, no tripod. =D
I went home wet but happy.

A few points id like to share:

A faster burst speed will help with blur.
Hand holding a filter messes up the composition.
Heavier gear helps in stabilizing the image (although its a pain in the shoulder)

Patience pays.

Thanks for the peek!

Hi Ian,
WOWWWWW-- great control here. Thanks for all the tips- this is a beautiful scene. Really lovely color tones- between the waves and the clouds, they really compliment each other nicely. Good Job Ian, TFS Julie

Great work, and good note and next time, when it comes to dexterity lessons, gives the ws version of hown you've done that trick without taking the photo underwater.

Cheers.

Hi Ian,
WOW!
Your exposure did a great job with the rushing waves! I like the composition with the good lead-in of the waves towards the horizon and this gorgeous sunset! The shining colors are a feast!
The efforts you did, payed you.
Beautifully done!

Another amazing photo from you Ian! I don't know how you kept from getting the camera, you and the lens wet! This is beautiful! Love the extreme wide angle, the splash is amazing! I would be terrified...salt water is VERY unforgiving! This is fantastic!

Hello Ian,
Excellent sea shore image, with wave splashing details, rocks, and dynamic sunset. I am surprised you were able to obtain a reasonable clear image at handheld 1-13th of a second (or is it 1/15th?)

Good job,
Ray

Hi, Ian -
This is superb - I love the energy conveyed by the spraying water captured with a perfect shutter speed. Very nice details and warm sunset hues. You get extra credit for such a steady hand-held shot, and for getting wet in the name of your art. Cheers -

Hi Ian,
Superb water effects (the waves in motion, the flow effect), great pink/golden/violet sky, the strange color of the sea, excellent framing. A dynamic and dramatic scene.
TFS,
Andreea
