I wanted a painterly feel to this, and so I photographed these pears in a very dark room, then lightened it in Photoshop considerably. This added grain, which was easily smoothed with the Median filter. I also cloned some of the harsh highlights.

I'm not sure what others will think, but I love this image! It was hard work that paid off well, IMO, and from start to finish, I knew what I was doing, so that's fun, too. I hope you enjoy it!

Nice pp work. You got a powerful light effect with your technic. I like the texture and the dark red tones. Bravo!

I love it too, David. And I love the idea of achieving the paint effect without the use of one of the traditional scripts. This is much more original and effective. A frame and a signature in the corner and this is ready for the art gallery.

It works great for me! The composition is so simple but so powerful, with a dual tone and that dark atmosphere in the background. The grain adds a kind of old oil painting to the shot.
Very well done!!

A very good use of PS. Appears to have similar lighting and tecnique as some of the masters. Very pleasing to the eye.

Very good picture. I like the effects that you added. It sure makes all those still lifes in the museum different.

Very nice composition David. I like the special effect you created. Very good PP. Congratulations.

Very effective the ligthing concentration is just good enough. It's simple and nice the grain makes it looks like a painting...I really appreciates this shot.

I love this image too! And I like the final effect of the filter. Must admit, I really enjoy pictures of fresh fruit in a still life format, and yours is unusual. Am curious about what it would look like with some soft highlights. Lovely warm tones and nice compo too.

Gayle :)

This turned out very nicely. It does have that painter's look about it. I like your idea of shooting in the very dark and then bringing some light back with post processing. It gives it that deep richness feel. The grain suits it.

This is a very interesting paint-like image. The fruit looks quite gorgeous, and your technique is very creative
