The view of Taj through the arch of the Great Gate. For me, architecturally this building is as close as one can get to perfection.

The lack of sharpness is not due to the camera or not focusing properly, but is due to the bluish pollution that hangs everywhere in and around Agra. I think to get a crisp clear image, the best time would be after a heavy rain shower. It is unfortunate that the corrosive mist is slowly eating away the marble surface of the Taj. They say that the situation now is much better compared to 10-20 years ago, but one wonders if everything possible is being done to preserve this glorious monument of mankind.

Fantastic Sunil! Love the view of this impressive and magnificent structure. Great to have a few silhouetted tourists at the bottom. I don't mind the hazy cast - it is as it is there! I like your choice of frame here as well. Very nice.

Bonjour Sunil,
Très jolie photo bien cadrée.
Je comprends bien que la photo ait l'air dans le brouillard ce qui lui donne un effet irréel.
Très bien vu.
Danièle.

Hi,Sunil. Nice POV of the Taj and your concerns about its preservation. The photo is well composed and presented and the note is helpful in explaining the lack of clarity. Agree with you but I think the high contrast from the black frame is partly responsible visually. Thanks it B=brought back memories.

Hi Sunil, great view of fantastic architecture well framed by arch, I like a lot, frindly Silvio

Hi Sunil,
this shot is wonderful and I hope you had a wonderful time in India.
When you come through that Gate, the Taj seems to float, this was my idea when I were there several years ago.
Thanks, I like it very much

Hi Sunil,
An amazing capture through this arch of Taj!
Excellent management in exposure. Great details on the World famous Monument!
Nice soft treatment.
I like the arch serving as frame. Nice white strait margin on a tight black frame.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Eh voila , the classic shot , i knew you would come up with this one eventually , hey perfect lines , love the frame within the frame composition , the pure lines of the building enhanced somehow by all the black surrounding it , got to love this one , a shame the pollution is eating it away , i do not pretend to know all the facts but i doubt this is any better polution wise as more people have access to a car now oh well .... the shot is great though !
Thanks for sharing Linus,
Carol

Well - much like my own latest posting of the Church of the Good Shepherd, this is the "iconic view." I had a critique on a recent shot suggesting it was important to find alternative views, but I'm not so sure. Sometimes the iconic "cliched" point of view is the best.
Magnificent indeed! Beautiful light, fine detail.

Very pleasing shot. The black framing enhances the effect of the Taj's beauty.Greetings Otto.

Despite the temple is not centered in the middle of the arch, it gives a great impression of balance. Also, despite the misty/blurry, the level of detail is high

Graet way of presenting Sunil, and well framed, its pretty hard to make something special of a building so many times photgraphed.
