[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken last summer. The aim was to keep it as simple as possible. Whilst the natural white/pink colour of the petals was attaractive I wanted to enhance them by increasing saturation against a dark background. Sharpening and slight blue tinting added the subtle colour on the edge.
I am not a botanist..anyone know the type of flower?

Hi, Mike.

I believe that this is one of a species of flower called Osteospermum. We have a few of these in the garden - they open up when the sun comes out then close up at dusk. Very pretty and simple and your picture has really done justice to this beautiful flower.

I have actually been playing around with an almost identical photo recently - trying to use magic wand and layers to make an image like this. So far, I've not been as successful as you but I'm going to keep trying - watch this space!
