Hi TL Folks!

Last week on Dubai we saw break on the monotonous skies here with some wispy cloud formation ( as most parts of the UAE is notorious for its bland and overcast sky, and every snapper here knows that.
With that small window of opportunity i rushed to my favorite spot on a beach near my home (after work)and discovered this man made stream that flows to the sea.
Ive been here for years and only now i saw this thing.

It became a chance for me to have some long exposure experiment on flowing waters. So i stood knee deep on the water with a soaked tripod.
I don't have an ND filter here except for a blue grad that does nothing but enhances the blue sky.

Exposure: 10 sec

PP:
RAW on CS4
curves (local) and levels
Added warming filter ( too blue )
vibrance and some saturation
Tiff-jpeg and resize

Every landscape fan have ND filters at hand. I don't have one so i just waited for the right amount of light to hit the rocks and for my meter to read less than 1 sec on auto mode, then switch to Manual. Although i did not ensure front to back sharpness on this one.

Time window is less than 2 minutes before it gets too dark.

Thanks for the peek!

Hello, Ian -
I've never seen the slow shutter effect on water have quite this much visual impact. The water looks almost as thick as honey. Great job with the light and the rocks in the foreground, which feature great colors and are sharply shown.

hello Ian

Very attractive color tone of the moss on the rocks in this long exposure shot of the flow of water. Good use of the wide angle to capture a part of the blue sky and making this vertical format most effective.

Great work.
