During mid-Jan to early Feb when the temperature is at its lowest, they held the Saiko Kawaguchiko Ice Festival in Yachōnomori Park. One can enjoy the beautiful natural ice sculptures in this "ice garden" as well the scenic view Mt. Fuji. (Lake Saiko and Lake Kawaguchiko are two of the Five Fuji Lakes, this park is very near both lakes).

At night they illuminate the ice with various colored lights and there is also a fireworks display. Unfortunately we did not stick around for the lights and fireworks display.

Thanks for viewing!

Hi Allan,
What an stunnning image! The ice sculptures are so well rendered with very good colors and textures. And like a gift, we can see the volcano in BG. The clouds give the illusion that the volcano was smoking. Very well done! Annie

Hi Allan,
What can I say.... It's an amazing shot of these ice-garden! I can imagine how it is to have all the lights on...Beautiful!!
The montain in the back could use some contrast, you hardly see him. But then again, we want to see the ice garden...:)

Hello Allan,

What a strange structures! They ice sculpture seem to have been made from just dripping water on it. We also had an ice sculpture festival, but they carved figures out of the ice, so it looks more like 'something'. :-)

Greetings,
Dennis
