[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is part of a huge weighting device weighing some 650 tonnes. It is almost at the top (level 91 of 101). It is designed as a dampening device by the Japanese architects. Apparently it is very effective also in dampening the effect of strong winds which Taiwan has on a reasonably frequent basis. Storms often pass here between the Philippines and China. Taiwan is on an active earthquake belt so maybe a good idea to include this item. Up close it looks like something from a spaceship.

Would you believe I fly to Taipei on Sunday...and 101 will be my first port of call, was just reading about this dampener!

I like the way you've constructed this image, showing detail rather than trying to get too much in the frame. Very interesting shot, well done!

Great shot, Murray. Sharp and well composed, an interesting point of view. Quite impossible to get a real sense of scale, what sort of diameter is it?
Thanks for sharing
