Instead of having my own mode of transportation to flit from place to place taking pictures of all the marvels LA has to offer (beaches, Getty museum, etc.) I had to take a cab from the house where I was staying with the Lloyds to the Burbank Train station. While in San Francisco for a wedding of one of our dear friends we decided to visit:

Sonoma to tour a family-friendly winery where the kids could learn how wine is made

The Jelly Belly Factory

Mrs. Grossman's Sticker Factory

Yosemite National Park for the first time as a family. We spent 3 days and nights there and it was glorious. I had nursed ideas of being a modern-day Ansel Adams, but that lasted all of 5 minutes once we arrived. (15 photos)

I took my children camping at Sherando Lake in Lyndhurst, Virginia (about 30 miles south-west of Charlottesville). We arrived at the campground at 10:30 PM Friday night and didn't know that they close & lock the gate each night at 10:00 PM. So we slept the first night in the car at the gate until they opened it Saturday morning at 6:00 AM. The camping was excellent and there were many things to photograph which I plan on sharing with you... (5 photos)
