Hi Lara:

I wanted to get back to you regarding your question about where I had taken this picture. I have listed some background about below. This location is not shown on most maps, but if you wanted to find it, the easiest starting point is Beatty, NV. From downtown Beatty, turn South on Hwy 95 towards Los Vegas and at about 3 miles on the left is a dirt road. Looking up this road from the highway, you can see some big concrete buildings about half a mile to the East. This is the Carrera site.

I have another post of this place which can be seen by following this link;

The Industrial Ruins of Carrera Nevada.

Located just South of the town of Beatty, NV. and East of the Death Valley National Park, the buildings here are ruins of a marble cutting operation that was built right below a big marble quarry in the mountain range to the east. When they began to cut the marble into slabs, they found that the quality was poor as the fissures in the stone would cause it too crumble and break as it came off the saws, so the operation was scrapped almost as soon as it had begun operations, but the buildings were left behind. The large round window like openings in the walls were used to house the bearings that the saw blades turned on.

That's about all I know about this location. Hope that helps.
Thanks for all your praise about this picture.
