Hi, Gary. Thanks for the nice comment. I'm not sure what canyon place in Colorado you are referring to (I live in Colorado) but archaeological sites certainly abound in the arid West, and often are unknown until some human action uncovers them in the inadvertent act of destroying them. It has been estimated that Lake Powell alone inundated around 10,000 known and unknown archaeological sites. But there are many still in existence throughout canyon country and it is always a bit of a thrill to come across an evidence of the Ancient Ones while exploring. Cordially, Don United States
