To make it a B&W:
-resized to 800 max
-USM for the whole image (to taste)
-Adjust colors to add more yellow. (to taste)
-Luko's sharpening then adjust to 23% opacity
-adjust to B&W
-signed
-posted
I have opened the image is Photoshop CS3
Croped with a Panoramic crop as to remove some exxtra sky to point more to the image itself and added shome sharpness (0.5 %)
and added border.

The title tells it all: first a copy of the layer as overlay, then curves to increase the high tones, then a moderate softglow filter, and then some blurring on the skin (but not much work to do on that side!)
