|Intro:||My main photographic interests are nature and creative photography. I try to vary the nature of my work and so try and give it wider appeal.|
I am enjoying the work of many great photographers and meet wonderful people here. It is a truly enjoyable experience. With also uploading images on TN and TE, and with time being a rather scarce commodity for me, I do not have the patience to subject myself to the egotism and arrogance of exactly three members here. They should know who they are, not by looking in the mirror of their mind because arrogance does not recognise itself, but by ultimately realising that their critiques are being ignored and their nuisance value minimized in that way. To the rest of the members, my appreciation for the wonderful people you are. Thank you, it is a very enjoyable experience. May it continue.
I do not believe in trampling on the work of the artist in the park and I would be seriously arrogant to confront him should I not like his work. Therefore, the correct thing to do is to just walk past. He will soon see by the response whether his work has appeal or not. Similarly here, and so I generally do not award zero or one point. It is either two points or nothing at all. Some say it is not being honest not to say so when you do not like something but that is not correct. And so ... there is no back-slapping. Just honest praise or none at all ... sometimes with some polite suggestion for improvement. And as far as the points system is concerned ... when I see someone with 40 000 points, for example, I immediately know that I am looking at a vastly experienced photographer - a real plus for me.
Oh and by the way: I am not a newbie here. My ancestor came to South Africa from Germany in 1699. So my genes have been around for more than 300 years and I am not leaving.
