|Intro:||Vic Zikoor a professional civil engineer from San Jose, Ca. who loves art and photography.|
Born in Baghdad, educated in Iraq, the US and Scotland and has made California his home since the late 70ís. At an early age Vic turned to ancient philosophies for answers and to art appreciation for inner peace. For many years, Vic recognized beauty in nature and art. In 1979 he moved to California settling in San Jose. The year 2001 he discovered digital photography as a mean to satisfy and develop his own artistic cravings. He is experimenting with digital photography as a creative medium and developing the needed skills. His eye captures beauty in nature as an expression of peace and tranquility. His art is evolving into showing nature as abstract. He believes that there are Master Photographers and Great Artists both do work that is way better than his work. I see many here in TL that do great work. Through digital photography and editing he believes that this is his best chances for him to express himself. He is an iStockphoto contributor, his work was on display for over a year at Milpitas Community Museum, he has participated in Open Studios and his work was recently published in a Santa Clara County newsletter he appeared on local Cable channel to show some of his work. Since 2002 he is the Producer of a weekly TV program that is shown on cable TV in the Silicon Valley.
He helped establish Project Art Bridge http://www.projectartbridge.org/
He developed relations with Iraqi Artists and produced joint art work between Iraqi and American artists. He did post two items at TL:The Sun Will Rise again and Love & Hate.
I like to post my work on TL , sometimes I like it soft grainy and with noise even out of focus. I do not need to adhere to the rule of 1/3 if it make sense. The freedom of being different is part of what makes a picture ART and not a just a photo....I want my TL photos to be fun and wild. I do welcome criticism, it makes me happy because I know that I did make an impression and it does not matter if it is negative... that is how we develop our skills. Infact, negative comments are welcomed and appreciated. I'm still learning....I have already leared alot from TL.....
