Approximately 4 years ago a friend of mine introduced me to photography. I decided to make it a hobby not realising at the time what an expensive hobby it could in fact become or how rewarding it could be. I started off with the Olympus C21 which I bought in Portugal in 2000 and then I paid R5000. When I brought it into South Africa, everyone was like ... WOW you got a digital (it was a 2.3MP)... :-)
After that I bought a Konica Minolta which was a DSLR-Like. Yes, I still knew precious little about cameras but I loved the fact that this camera had a rotating screen and believe me, it comes in very handy when you don't want to get down and dirty.
Then the time came to move onto something better and take photography a little more serious as I was enjoying it so much. Photography became me even though I was and still am an absolute amateur. I began to eat, sleep and live photography. I started seeing more of our beautiful country. Wherever I went, so my camera went.
I started investing in lenses and recently acquired my Canon 100-400mm lens.
Photography is my passion and I know I have a lot to learn and I hope to achieve that on TrekLens :-)
I appreciate open and honest criticism so please critique my photos :-)
