I have cropped around 2 sides of the leaf so it is not so much in the centre of the image. Seeing the leaf seems to be pointing to the left I croppeed around the right and bottom ends of the image.
We do that to give your subject space to move into.
We do that for people photos too. Any subject really.

Shadows and Highlights

Hi Florent
In Photoshop CS2 I slightly used the Shadows in Shadows and Highlights to brighten up the building. I like how we can now see the bricks and textures - I hope you like it.

This photo was taken at 4.30pm Dec 09 2009

Here you can see the wharf fairly busy with all the young folk on it. It does get a LOT busier...

You can understand how I take the photos - I usually stand on the left on the wharf, above the steps where they come out of the water. The sun is behind me on that angle.

And most of the jumpers look outwards - that I why I don't often show their faces.

Off-centred the flower

I have cropped around the flower so it isn't right in the centre. I put a small border around it too

In Photoshop CS2 I cropped closer around the flower and worked on Levels to brighten up the image.

I left more space on the right side of the flower - I did that because the flower is slightly facing right and it now has room "to move into"
