Hi Chris, welcome to TL!
This is very nice first post, you seems to know how to take good photos with good equipment. The path has very ordinary composition (but not bad!) and her feet breaks the composition very well. DOF is well chosen and the sharpness is where it should be. It is good that you have lowered the camera, it created a very nice perspective.
Great shot, especially for the first post! Congratulations, I hope we will be able to learn a lot from you in the days to come.
Have a warm welcome, once again!

Great composure Chris

great first shot Chris, good tones and POV. Very well done
Welcome to TL :)

As soon as I saw this image, I just had to put it into my 'favourites' theme.
I just love the low angle and point of view. The depth of field is very good. I like that one of your mum's feet is in motion, and of course, the walking stick adds a lot of interest. I also like the curved line of the bridge. Perhaps crop about 1" from the bottom to remove some of the out of focus area. Apart from that, very well done on the composition and lighting. Thanks for this great shot.
Welcome to TrekLens Chris. I look forward to seeing your next shot.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

minimal dof, but focus in the right place, lovely warm tones, M, (*_*)

Hi Chris

Nice and interesting photo. Low POW and light at the and of bridge make this photo very good

Welcome to TL, Chris! Excellent first post. Great composition and excellent control of the DOF; that's not all easy if the person is walking. Nice tonal range too; the area of light in the background creates a nice vanishing point. Congratulations and bring us more!

Welcome Chris! Yoi walk in with nice photo of walk.
Really good perspective and nice soft light.

Great POV!
You can almost feel the warmth from the sun with those golden tones.
Well done on your 1st photo & welcome to TL :)

Hi Chris,
Wonderful to see you, an old friend, here on TL. Welcome! This is a cracking image. The colours, DOF and selection of subject matter all work together really well, enhanced by the warm light. Looking forward to seeing a lot more of your work here.

Just sent you another long winded email :-))

Hi Chris.
A great shot mate. Welcome to TL I'm still finding my way around! Back to the pic-what a good idea not to include too much of the person. Depth of field just right and the warm lighting is ideal. Look forward to more postings from you.
With a nickname like that I would have thought you came from Cromer

Everything has been said on this picture, Chris, but I wanted to add quickly that I really like this image. It evoques so much to me who likes hiking and I wish I was there walking as well. Wonderful light throughout to make it a wonderful picture. Excellent and welcome to TL!

P.S. It is always good to see good photographer joining this site and I am glad that Paul encouraged you to sign-up. I, for one, truly enjoy Paul & Magda's work!!!

Welcome to the site, this is a very effective POV - a great first post (BTW thanks for the B&W WS on the Limestone pavement shot)

The POV of this one is very inovative and creative! I also enjoy the DOF which emphasizes the shoes of the walking man! The textures as the colors are very pleasant to look at!

Hi Chris,
I like your style. The depth of field is perfect, with enough foreground and background interest to pull you through the shot. Cracking POV too. Well done you.
