I am lucky to live just across a river. I am also lucky that just across our house there is a wildlife platform in the river. This morning the residential Heron decided to come by and have a rest at the platform. We spotted. him from our office window this morning so I grabbed my camera and went out to take a few photos as it allowed me to get close. I got so excited I almost when out in my pajamas. Luckily my husband was there to remind me to actually get dressed before running out :D. Heron is often found along rivers and they feed mainly off fish. It is a true pleasure to see a Heron stalk its prey and then dive in for the capture. They are lightning-fast once they go in for the catch. Shutter speed 1/1000

Although I don't like this bird, I like the details of the feathers.
Technical knowledge. Conventional photo, academic work.
Well done.

Hi Zandra,
I am always impressed by the sharpness of your photographs, the lighting here is good and the bird stands out against the dark BG

Hello Zandra.
Another well managed shot (sharpness)
Great details.
I have a few grey herons in my area but they are shy guys!
