[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I had a bit of a day today. I woke up, feeling like it is just another day of bad news. I did not want to have anything to do with the world at all. I was on a low. Emotions going in one direction only. I had enough of staying at home, staying inside, staring at the four walls, the garden fence. Soon to be 3 years ago, on May 11th, 2017, we lost our girl. Our star. Sophie, my stepdaughter. She was the light of our life. She was 17, about to turn 18. She had Cystic Fibrosis, a condition making it difficult to breathe. She lost her fight. Now, with this virus, Covid-19, it brings back memories of time spent in the hospital. But at least we could be there. We had the opportunity to say goodbye. So today when I was feeling low I was a bit bad. I went for a very long walk. 3 hours. I stayed safe and above all made sure anyone I was meeting was safe. 4-meter distance minimum. As I was walking, feeling all low and blue, all of a sudden there was this tree. It was full of flowers, bees, and bumblebees and birds. It was buzzing with life. I stopped in my track, took a deep breath, and just enjoyed it. It brought my spirit back up. So, I decided to call this one 'hope' as when I stopped, paused, looked and took it all in, the hope I felt I had lost this morning came back and filled my soul one more time. We will get through these times. Perhaps not on the same boat but through the same storm. We will do it together. I don't know if anyone here on TL has been personally affected by Covid-19. I pray not. If you have been affected, please accept this as my heartfelt token of support. Shutter speed: 1/1000
