[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
"Bubbles" - one of my little Bubbling Running Frogs (Kassina senegalensis) on a stone.

This was set up in a plastic tray full of water with the frog sat on a stone and some moss covered bark in the background. I put a couple of Elinchrom 500 BRXi flash units to each side at the front to light the frog and one more to the rear to light the background and enable a bright reflection.

The studio lights were all set up to throw F11 in all the right places so everything is on the same brightness whilst giving a decent depth of field on the camera.

1/160th second was just a handy number that falls within the sync range of the lights, the flashes fire at 1550th of a second anyway.

To maximise the reflection you have to shoot as flat as possible along the water.

And this is what you get ...

A wonderful composition, very interesting with your note !

Hi Miles

As always it's a pleasure to view your photos, and as always, your note is very informative. I feel I'm not knowledgeable enough to pass any useful comments. I like everything about it, except I find the background slightly distracting.

Hi Miles, beautiful as usual, crystal clear reflection and he looks like such a happy little chappy , you would swear he was smiling. I think the rock stands out a little too much , maybe a greyer tone of brown wouldn't compete with him so much. Fiona
