Furnas Lake is the largest body of water of Minas Gerais state and so it is called Minas Sea. It has many artificial beaches and canyons that turn the lake into a major tourist attraction. The dam covers an area of 1440 square kilometers, reaching 34 municipalities. The lake is formed by two "arms", one east and one south of the dam. On the east side the main river that flows into the lake is the Rio Grande. The south side the dam is formed from the junction of rivers Verde, Sapucaí, Machado, and many brooks and streams. The storage level of the lake is 768 meters above sea level, with the maximum level of 769.3 meters and the minimum operating level of 750 meters. Throughout its length, the lake displays diverse landscapes with sinuous contours, because of the numerous hills on which the dam was formed.
In some places identical pictures of this can be captured.

Dear Paulo,
funny idea, simply shot, good contrast, good texture, superb light and colors.
Thanx for sharing.

Hello Paulo and Welcome on TrekLens!

I like the play of light in the water and the sharpness of this image but I think there is something wrong with the framing... I would have framed tighter, w/o the gras at the lower left corner and w/o the darker upper right corner OR I would have chosen a larger framing letting see more of the environment around the lake.

Enjoy your stay at TL!
