I thought the countryside might be picturesque when there was a heavy frost one recent morning. I decided to go out and take some photos. I had the scene I wanted pictured in my mind and this was the closest to that image.
I almost always use aperture priority and chose an aperture of f11 to get a good depth of field. The light was good, but the shutter speed forced me to use a tripod. I used an ISO of 100 to retain the best quality.

F11, 1/100 sec, 180mm

Nice photo and morning 2015 :)

Hi Robert ,
Very good shot , with interesting lights and haze effects ;
Congratulations !
Ernest .

Very atmospheric image, could have been the perfect Greetings card... I very much like the composition having that lovely tower on the up left side and the trees on the right under with light and shadows in between...

Bonne Année Bob!

Amicalement - Viviane

Hi Robert,

Well managed the image which has different details at different distances.

Hi Bob
Interesting note about your dispositions and use of tripod.
It's a classical British countryside shot, I think. You have a lovely landscape, and it was well captured and transmitted to us
Thanks Bob and happy new year

Hi Bob, definitely worth getting out and about in the cool air for. Only thing for me is that it is a little bright and you lose the shadows from the low angle of the sun. Hope you dont mind a quick ws? Fiona

Hi Robert,
Rising almost as a silhouette out of the low lying cold haze the tower resembles an almost fairy tale kingdom. Dramatic image with a cold feel, well taken.

Everyone are different and do not have the same depth of understanding and vision. I only say what I see without trying to act different. I can not see anything remarkable in this shot for me. Understand that is only how I see it.

One of the excellent cold-image of this winter, this is an art work Bob well done and do it again ROBERT SMITH

Hello Bob,
you have captured the chilly atmosphere perfectly in a well composed scene.
Cheers Les.

Hello Robert, good for you, getting out and about on a frosty morning.
I like the different layers as we peer through the cold mist and try to identify just what we are seeing. The church tower makes a good focal point, and I like the inclusion of the hedge in the immediate fg.
Regards Jean.

Ciao Bob!

Superb work.
Fantastic lightness and shadows.
Fantastic atmosphere.
I liki it.
Beautiful image.

I like lots of the pictures in your potfolio but this one touched me.
Great atmosphere, excellent composition.
I posted a workshop less agressive then your workshop.
