[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Galleria in Milan is a masterpiece of architecture. It is difficult to photograph because of how big it really is. For me I prefer to take multiple shots and stitch them together rather than to use a wide angle lens which pushes everything further away.

To create this shot I use an L bracket on my tripod which holds the camera vertical over the center point or node of the camera. The tripod legs are leveled first then the vertical arm is adjusted so that the camera is level. The first shot is a test for focus, exposure and Aperture. Then everything is set to Manual and the shots are taken from left to right with a 20% overlap. I use PTGUI for stitching but CS6 and other programs also do a good job.

Hi Roger,
Amazing capture, beautiful contrast and light,
great architecture and details..
A sharp and clear presentation..

Hello Roger,I just knew that this was Milan even before I read your notes. And I haven't even been there!
Wonderful DoF.
Your Pov standing slightly back from the arcade, gives us the benefit of viewing the arches over other shops at each side, as well as including some people in the fg which helps to draw the eyes into the Galleria, as we look at all the other shoppers.
Tfs, regards Jean.
