[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the Hanger Deck of the USS Hornet. The shot was converted to Black and white using the Channel Mixer. Some HDR toning was added to bring out the shadow details. When using HDR it is important to play with the controls until the details come out while being careful not to overuse the effect.

In a shot like this it is important to separate the subject from the background so a large Aperture is helpful. The Channel Mixer is also useful in choosing tones that separate the subject.

Hi Roger
It's been a while since I've been in Treklens (apart from a brief visit last week to post my first picture in over a year. Good to see some of the old names still around.
Your image... I like the B&W choice and use of HDR to bring out detail in the shadows. It can be very difficult to get the tone right in this sort of environment and you've done a fine job here.
Great advice in your note too.

bonjours Roger

bravo pour ce noir et blanc impressionnant cet intérieur du porte avion

bonne soirée

Awesome capture of this old warrior especially in B&W. Good pov and dof with nice contrast. Well done, tfs.

Hello Roger, your knowledge of PP has made the plane appear quite 3 dimensional with all the subtle tones.
Lots and lots of lights, but excellently managed.

Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Roger,
Another B&W work of you. Very well managed the frame, aircrafts and composition.
Best regards.

Hi Roger,
