Hello Roger, it is with interest that I read your notes, and especially the information about putting the darker side of the face towards the camera. You did the same with the portrait of 'Banana'.It really does work.
This is a fantastic portrait.I love the composition.
Tfs, regards Jean.

interesting note about the lighting with an excellent result

Hello Roger,
What marvelous demonstration that "less is more". I have looked at this image long and hard and there is nothing about it that I can fault. To the contrary, I find it very captivating with a strong emotional undertone. Who says there have to be catchlights in the eyes, for example? Not required here. Multiple lights may work for glamour photography but the tonal range here is fantastic and the background complements the image perfectly. I think a version in portrait format, not as an alternative but as another great work of art, would also be very good to see. Well done and congratulations.

Hi Roger
What can I say? You know what you want and invariably you get it. One of Trek Lens' masters.

Bom dia Roger,
I no longer have to say about the conscious use you make of light.
The note from you and the comments preceding mine are absolutely full of it for those who want to learn photography and acquire critical thinking.
I just want to highlight an aspect that was not addressed here: the use of the excellent black nullspace. To see the importance of it, just do a WS cropping one good slice and compare the result...
