[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A scene from 2013 but take away the motor boats and the scaffolding, the buildings[and the view] cannot be much different from the days of Canaletto.

One of my favourite artists, this is my homage to him!

"Giovanni Antonio Canal [1697-1768] better known as Canaletto, born in Venice,he was an Italian painter of landscapes.
The son of a painter, hence his mononym,Canaletto, meaning 'little canal'.
Much of his early work was painted 'from nature' differing from the customary practice of the time, of painting in the studio."

Thanks for looking.

Wow, I do like the tones, so much detail hits you.
The sky offers up so much, impressive idea of your foreground subject

Hi Jean,
A romantic view of the gondola in the Grand Canal of Venice.
I like the diffused lighting rendering even exposure all over.
Very neat work.
Well done,

Francis Xavier

This scene does makes for a good subject for painters. But I still can't imagine life with canals instead of solid streets, I suppose one can adjust. Good lighting in spite of what looks like a cloudy day with nice details. Well done, tfs.

Ciao Jean, sure, like a Canaletto painting, great view of fantastic Venice, wonderful colors, excellent parspective and splendid light, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Ola Jean
alwyas a pleasure to see a good composition from Venice.
um abraço

Hello Jean
i like the depth of field here. very well balanced shot, though you choose to crop it square. light is subtle which gives the frame a balanced feel. nice place to shoot.

The great Canaletto. His paintings serve as a reference for the Venice of the past.
Nice picture. I like the góndola in the foreground.
