[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Using a single light with a large soft box it is possible to get very dramatic lighting effects. When we use more lighting we lose the contours of the face. In this case the sharp curves of Aspens face are easy to see because of the side lighting.

This is no doubt a class portrait.
Tfs Roger.

Hello Roger, the slightly tilted head and direct eye contact help to emphasise the drama created by just the single light source, the skin tones are delightful in a super portrait.
Regards Les.

...with passion and presense.

Hi Roger
Another excellent porrait. The single light certainly does add mood to a shot. The black and white works well with a single light, I'm not sure it would work so well in colour, but I'm not a portrait expert. The catchlights in the corners work well but I think a little softening of the focus on the face would benefit the image.

Hi Roger, I like the close up of her face with all the shadows. The full on stare puts out a fair bit of attitude...Fiona

Terrific monotone portrait. Perfect amount of light (and direction).
