[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London, England. The entire structure is 135 metres tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres.
It is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe, and the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, visited by over 3.5 million people annually. When erected in 1999 it was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, until surpassed first by the 160 m Star of Nanchang in 2006 and then the 165 m Singapore Flyer in 2008.

This is my contribution to the Theme "Wheel"

A nice contribution to the theme. Excellent positioning of the Ferris wheel in the frame and the two ferry boats make great secondary elements. Excellent processing too, very dramatic.

Hi Francis,

You made a good choice to make this composition in black and white, high contrast effect with the sky.
Great POV and DOF, the foreground and the background is well balanced in composition.
Splendid movement of the water too, great shot.
TFS.
Have a good week end.

B&W treatment works very we'll for this shot. Great sky! If only I can get to London on a day like this...

Hello Francis, your PoV emphasises the size of the London Eye.With the 'spokes' radiating from the centre it looks very much like a giant bicycle wheel.
Love the b/w presentation, and the square format.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Stunning details on offer, the textures are first class.
I love the proportions of wheel to its surroundings, especially the busy traffic on the river.

Hi Francis,
Fantastic monochrome with an excellent tonal range and great depth. A good entry to the wheels theme.

Hi Francis, this is so full of things to explore and full of detail. The middle of the wheel seems to pop out and really look like the middle of a bicycle wheel. Fiona
