|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|New Bern, NC is named after Bern, Switzerland. Bern means Bear in Swiss. New Bern has several businesses that have these decorative bears around town. New Bern was first settled by Europeans in 1710 by Swiss and German immigrants under the leadership of Christoph de Graffenried, Franz Louis Michel and John Lawson. It was named after the capital of Switzerland, Bern. This bear is in honor of Christoph de Graffenried. and is located at the front entrance to Union Point Park.(from Wikipedia)|
This was shot in manual mode. There were two very bright spots on either side of the bears head when I got to load it on my computer. The bear was in the sun and there was bright sunlight behind his head in the background. I used a clone tool to correct the left side of the photo with grass and branches. The right side of the head , I used curves to try to isolate and darken a little bit. If anyone know a better way to fix this, I would appreciate a lesson.
