[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The County of Tyrol, Princely County from 1504, was a State of the Holy Roman Empire, from 1814 a province of the Austrian Empire and from 1867 a Cisleithanian crown land (Kronland) of Austria-Hungary. Today its territory is divided between the Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, a small part of the Italian region of Veneto (Cortina d'Ampezzo and other villages) and the Austrian state of Tyrol. Both regions are today associated again in the Euroregion Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino.

Chalets are very attractive in this region and sometimes one finds a solitary construction with stands out against such a beautiful mountain scape as BG.

Bom dia Francis.
Lovely atmosphere and a very nice gray DOF.
The POV adopted was a specially good choice.
Memorable shot.

Hello Francis-Xavier,

The impressive beauty of this landscape made me click on the thumbnail. However, the larger version leaves me quite hesitant.

On my screen, the colors look rather unnatural (especially in the upper part of the photo, where the rocks meet the (washed-out) sky); in my opinion, this contradicts with the natural aura of the landscape itself. Did you apply an HDR-treatment on this photo?

I'm not sure either about the placement of the chalet, touching the bottom border of the picture. I feel it needed more space under it, in order to have it "embedded" in nature. But I do not know the place, so maybe you had to hide something disturbing, such as an ugly parking lot.

My suggestions to solve the color issue: turning this photo into black & white and/or cropping the upper part in order to entirely leave out the sky (I feel such a crop would still give more depth to your image).

Of course, this is just my personal opinion. As always: feel free to (dis)agree ;o).

TFS & kind regards,

Ciao Francis, beautiful mountain landscape with lovely wooden barn, splendid light, excellent clarity and wonderful colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Hallo Francis. I like the this picture especially the strong colours you used. I myself often use a bit extravagant colours
and I like to do so. So....well done.
One thing though: I find it a pity the sky is so dull. It's too much a contrast with the rest of the scene.
About the building: a landscape is as it is!

Hi Francis

Im leaning towards Erik and his assesment for this image. As stunning as the area is, I too feel the chalet is isolated in the corner as if cut off. Also the dividing line of scenery as if the backdrop was added. I think if the tones were closer together or as b/w tones i think this would help.

Other than that deflation, i feel the area is of outstanding beauty.

stv ;o))

Bonjour Francis
This is a photo with great potential .However, I agree with Erik
and Steve ..The cottage at the bottom of the photo does not bother me ... but the sky is really OE..
Still a great landscape.

Beautiful shot, I can hear the "Sound of Music"

There must be at-least 10 different hues of green present here, if not more! Beautiful image, I simply adore all the hills you got in the shot... overlapping one another, beautiful.
