St Agnes. Scilly Isles

St Agnes is one of those rare places which can honestly claim to be unspoilt. It is a small flower Farming community which has not been robbed of its tranquillity by commercialisation. The beautiful island, about a mile across, welcomes those who want a simple holiday away from the stress and pollution of the mainland. The sea is ideal for snorkelling and diving, and at night the stars can appear remarkably bright in the clear air.

Ciao Steve, fascinating composition with fantastic grey sky, wonderful dark atmosphere and splendid light, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Bonjour Steve
We have this type of wonderful wild rocks carved as silhouettes or faces in Brittany, but here you add a very great mood with the perfect management of lights, contrasts and dof
Superb landscape

Hi Steve

A powerful postcard capture here, full of mood. The placement of the rocks in the centre has worked well in this case. The dark ocean and threatening ominous clouds create a very moody, unpredictable feel which works well for an island. Like the silhouette of the seagull (perhaps) perched on the top of the rocks. Well managed light, a bit of it streaming through the open clouds on the left.

Nicely done as always!

Kind regards,
Taryn

Hi Steve,
A very imposing rock with such a shape! Perfect light management to produce an even exposed presentation. I like the PP work performed to obtain this stunning result. A nice frame to compliment.
Well done,

Francis Xavier

Hi Steve, I like the darkness of this one, it has a sort of fantasy movie feel to it. Love the gull standing guard on top.Fiona

Nice processing on this Steve! There is lots of mood here, with the darker clouds and darker tones! The framing is nice! I like drop shadow frames.

Hi Steve

Another great shot, well framed, dark and moody. I like the seagull perchrd on top of the rock. Everything is well controlled. However, there appears to be some fringing around the rocks, possibly caused by overworking the sky. Also, for me personally, the outer frame detracts from the photograph itself. please take this as observations meant to be constructive, and take from it what you will. Still a good shot and much better than any of my efforts. Thanks for sharing.

That seagull must feel like the king of the sea! Awesome capture of this seascape in spite of the dark clouds looming in the background. I like the soft lighting and it has good dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.

Hi Steve,

I would call it "Smiling King Kong". Good exposure, good range of contrast, beautiful sky. I would have prefer less border more (larger) image, but it is part of the presentation, which look good anyway. Nice work and TFS

Alain

Olá Steve,
Fine and sophiscated submission. A fantastic POV, dramatic colors and shapes. All added by a delicious bonus, the seagull.
Best wishes,
R.

Hi Steve,a beautifully presented shot of St.Agnes. The colours of the rocks have warm tones and contrast with the cool greys of the sky and sea. There is a good variety of textures here too.
The sea birds although quite small from your PoV are still a nice addition.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hello Steve,
I looked long and hard at this image and what I found was wonderful pleasure in beholding the beauty and the excellent composition of this tranquil scene as presented by you. Very good exposure control also. The bird on top of the "head" adds a very nice little bit of extra interest. Just fabulous. Well done.

Hello, wonderful atmosphere thanks to the perfect exposure and sharpness of detail.Going by your note this would be a place exactly down my alley,as they say.Friendly regards,Otto.

Hi, Steve. A lovely Postcard from St Agnes. This is a lovely composition of the rocks with the seagull sitting on top.It captures the mood and the colors look awesome. Looks like a storm is brewing. Good light and exposure control with amazing sharpness and clarity. The photo without the frame would be equally impressive.Cheers.
