Other than the sunrise I haven't had time for the camera this week, so took the boys and the camera for a night crawl out the front gate. Taken from down low on the footpath as I didnt take the tripod with us.(yeah I know silly thing to leave behind for a slow shutter speed shot). We are on a winding road so you always get the curves.Just played around with the settings in manual but also manual focus.Had it set for 25 seconds.

Hi Fiona,
Very artistic ! Nicely done with good final product. TFS Julie

I love this, looks like drawing with light, It's exciting.
Powerful color in the night and the sparks are a plus.
Beautiful design with the long exposure , very nice entry to the theme.

Great shot Fiona, very artistic. You have done well to keep the car in focus with no tripod at that shutter speed. I love the curve of the lights and the two star shapes of the lamp posts. I might have cropped a bit off the bottom to give a wider format. Stunning image and a nice addition to the theme.

Wow! This is some long exposure! I like the pattern created by the lights and you did a wonderful job even without a tripod. Very well done, tfs.

Hi Fiona,
Excellent piece of light painting - superb shot with 20 seconds and no tripod! I like the contrast of the lights against the black and some lovely curves. Given me some inspiration. Best wishes

Bonjour Fiona,

No tripod for a long exposure shot is like going out with the camera for the day and leaving the battery at home - ha ha ha!

Anyway, this gave you another chance to experiment with low pov, and I am sure sure that the result is finally better than if you had that tripod. The tilt is really the point of this shot, it adds so much strengh to the compo!
Lucky shot... Good placement, and the city lights are not disturbing.

Hi Fiona, I like the star effect and the light effect of long exposure. Well done& TFS
