As a change from my flowery shots, I thought that I would give you 'Daily life' in Sherborne, a small market town in North West Dorset.Sherborne is famous for its historic buildings, including an abbey, a manor house and two castles.
Much of the old town is built from the distinctive ochre coloured ham stone.
I thought that this building was attractive, because of the colour of the stone, and just as I took the shot, the Royal Mail van came to collect the post. There is a junction to my right, out of shot, and I had been waiting a while for the traffic to clear!

Thanks for looking.

Hi Jean.

One of Dorsets finest, Sherbourne, shows classic rural buildings and life as it once was, around every corner, a piece of time before. Pleasing snapshot of daily life, the rustic local stone used in the buildings is clearly shown. Its always interesting going through towns like this and seeing the road layouts, some not changed in a long while. Very well seen and taken. tfs

I love these old houses

Hi Jean, I can really "indulge" in these old villages, the buildings and the atmosphere in your presentation. A perfect presentation, good llight and soo many little beautiful details - I took my time with the pic to takee them in.
Kind regards - Monika

Hi Jean,
This is so perfect. Gives meaning to the term "picture perfect". The red letter box tells you at once in which country this photo was taken.

Hi Jean,
I like the architecture of the houses and the point of view.
Excellent details with great naturel colors,
very nice perpective too.
nicely done.

A lovely capture from a part of a historical town with amazing details and clarity, Jean!

I like the buildings and their architecture, and the flair you managed to capture in this scene.
The presence of a person gives a good sense of scale in here.
Well caught light and exposure too.

Thanks for sharing.

Kind regards,

Hello Jean,
It's a beautifully taken snapshot from the country side of England. Old design of housing and it's texture is looking interesting. Fine details in good luminsity. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Kind Regards,

Nice composition Jean with quirky buildings and the odd splashes of bright colour to contrast with the colours of the brickwork. I like the low POV and your details are nice and sharp.

Those buildings reminds me of the old houses in New Orleans, the architectural design are almost similar. Nicely captured with good lighting and dof with sharp details. Very well done, tfs.
