Light Gate (final version)

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Shot during a test, using fill light and HyperSynch using "wizard pocket" units.
As you can see, the sunlight comes from the right side, and the front wood board, reflects the light onto the ones in the back...making those nice highlights appear. So my goal was to light up the shadow area of the front boards.
Only changing setting on the flash outburst. More or less light, trying to get the right amount, too produce a fill light just strong enough not too kill the ambiant highlight and bring details out of the board in the shadow area. As you can tell, the brick wall in the background and highlight at the bottom of the gate, aren't being affected by the fill flash. Fill flash affect the shadow area...mostly. I say mostly, because if your flash affects your highlight, the outburst of your flash is too strong.
Then this image was later on postprocess, ajusting level, color balance (it was too blue) the bricks in the back used as a reference. Hdr toning was then added. |

Dear Denis,
Love the light you have caught in this scene!
Great symmetry and well caught graphism with superb sharpness and clarity.
The exposure is amazing and those illuminated lines bring great charm into the scene.
Good job!
Kind regards,
Paras

Very good.... It was like given a decorative light
Comme quoi...
Oui, voilà exactement ce que j'avais en tête en guise de WS.
Le résultat est, graphiquement parlant, très attirant.
Bon effet sur les textures et la lumière donc.
I love how the light looks in the front wood boards. And it amazes me how that light can be reflected on the back wood boards. Great texture of the wood captured here. Keep experimenting, because I learn a lot from your photography skills and talent. Excellent work!
