Hope......for warmer weather

I would like to sing “It’s a rainy day in Georgia” but I’m afraid it feels more like ‘Pants in Paignton’ Drought has been the order of the day here, especially over the UK for last month, even to the point of drought warnings and hosepipe bans……but now the rain has returning in a vengeance. One place in Wales yesterday had a months rain in 5 hours, many areas are flooding as the ground and rivers cannot cope.

So for this reason I post you all a rose, a wet rose, but one that sparkles in the light while the rain abates.

Wimbledon Tennis starts in a few weeks and it always rains then, perhaps its gunna be a dry on.

Sharpened, cropped and resized.

Hi Steve

Amazing repetition of the water droplets and excellent sharpness, with good use of selective focus to separate the flower from its oof bg. I like the repetition of the folded pink rose petals.

The dark bg accentuates both the graphism & apparent colour saturation. Tfs!

Dear Steve :O))

This is such a lovely closeup capture from a beautiful peach-colored rose with amazing droplets which look like pearls resting on its tender petals!

The sharpness and DOF are excellent, however, not so sure about the POV as I feel the net-like structure (seen in BG) a kind of distraction. Therefore, I tried a WS hoping you don't mind.
The colors are natural and contrasts are amazing in this floral posting.

Thanks for sharing such a pleasing scene!

Best regards,
Paras ;)

Really nice one with all the drops on the petals. I would just burn that b/g

Bom dia Steve.
The only objection I could have been overcome by WS done by Paras, eliminating the only existing source of distraction in the original photo, that is aesthetically beautiful and technically a great photo.
Abraço cordial,

a beautifull rose with beautifull drops... but so many drops!...

but we have to speak about photo and not rain!
I look at Paras' WS and find it too small around the rose; so I make mine! in fact I also thing the background musn't bee here to give more importance to the flower

Dear Steve

Nice title and framing. Beautiful soft pastel pinks of the rose. Good depth of field, excellent sharpness especially of the tips of the petals and the beads of water droplets. I like the blurred dark background which contrasts nicely with the soft pastel colours but I do agree, the perhaps gate in the background is a distraction.

But otherwise, very nicely done.

Kind regards,

Salam Steve,
Nice title, nice description.
I found Christine's WS a good one, but the manner he has written his critique doesn't work for me. I believe it's the photographer's PoV that matters. For photography is somehow an art, not just techniques, even the presence of the net-like structure in BG is a part of your style in my opinion. I'm a fan of WSs in TL, and do sometimes some manipulations in others' photos. What i am to say here, is that even 1 is a point! I don't find photos like this for 0!
I like your mood in this photo and the PP you have done. TFS.

Hope is well interpreted in this floral presentation, dear Steve.
I like the wet look of this beautiful pale pink rose with such droplets hanging on its tender petals!
A very sharp image adorned with fabulous lighting.
Well done for this wonderful presentation.

WOW...just love those darker tones Steve! I have shot many flowers and this "color" seems to shoot the best. Red Roses are the hardest.... White seems to be next in line as the best. Love the water drops! The light is wonderful here!

Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! Awesome capture of those water droplets! Great lighting and good dof with nice details. Very well done, tfs.

HI Steve, indeed an eyecatching pink rose beauty with so many raindrops on the petals. Perfectly presented, excellent POV. Indeed, I love this rose.
Regards Rose

Hi Steve. congratulation - this is one of the finest rose you have in your gallery - and I just love the droplets .....
Sharpness and light are perfect - and I must say I do not find the BG actually distracting - It is what you saw at that instant and liked it !
Thanks for sharing - I envy you for your rain - our flowers bloom and are gone thenext day.
Kindest regards - Monika

Hello Steve :)

Pretty this rose, created from the drops of water, romantic looks very much!
Her colour contrasts with the dark background beautifully.
Splendid colours, sharpness and light, very showy work!

I greet You warmly.

Hi Steve, a beautiful rose that is further enhanced by the droplets of rain.
Having looked at the workshops, I think that the darker bg's hiding the trellis[?] probably make the shot look better; but the sharpness and the natural colour are really eye catching, well done.
Regards Jean.

Hi Steve!
A gorgeous composition, my friend. Nice title, I share your hope:) Also in Treviso we had rainy days so far.
