[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is another image from my recent producing and directing of the early 1960s era musical, “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”

Near the end of the musical, disaster has struck the company and “Finch,” (center) is about to be forced to resign. But he turns the situation around in the rousing song/dance, “Brotherhood of Man,” where he reconciles all the men with the board president “Womper” and the company president “Biggley.” The lyrics here “…you, you got me, me I got you, you.”

These are “production” images that are not posed, but shot as the musical play is in progress during our rehearsal/preview under existing stage lighting (I also did the stage lighting design) which here consisted of a mix of color gelled tungsten lighting and two HMI (roughly 6000K) follow spotlights geled with Rosco #33 No Color Pink on the three actors shown in this image.

Being also a theatrical lighting designer, stage lighting is not always ideal for photography, because the human eye is a much better camera and stage lighting is done for people not cameras.

Without repeating my workflow/PP notes, please see my note for my first posting from this series here: Dynamic Stage Kiss.

PP in PS5 RAW and PS, did only some basic adjustments without altering the look of the stage image. Cropped tighter, and ran the image through NIK Define (noise reduction) and NIK Sharpener.

Hi Larry

Well composed with effective tight framing and some cheesy expressions! Looks a bit blue magenta on my screen but that's easy to adjust in photoshop to suit personal taste by adding yellow & green. Smart use of available light as flash often does more harm than good. Tfs!

Hi Larry,bonjour,
Very nice Expressions of the personnages in action,
A sharp and clear picture with a tight presentation,
good contrast and light and well taken at the good moment..
All my compliments

Ciao Larry, fun capture of great trio, fantastic expression, excellent clarity, splendid light and colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Hi Larry - personally I much prefer this photo compared to your studio/chromakey set-ups. I like the far more natural look, even with the people in the BG.
Nice and sharp, and as for the light - well it's the best the camera will do as you say in your useful notes!

Bom dia Larry,

Great timind and pose. Excellent focus, lighting and beautiful colors.
Perfect the tight crop.

Hi Larry..nice shot..your sharpness is great as is the lighting. Nice work.

Dear Larry,

To me, the scene looks so lively, a kind of 3-D feeling!
A nice shot with well management of light and exposure.
The expressions on your models' faces are well caught and enhance the overall appeal of the picture.

Excellent work as always!

Kind regards,

Love the natural expression on their faces. Good timing and good capture. Awesome lighting and good dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.
