[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Gentian species grow as one to two years or perennial herbaceous plants. The decussate leaves are divided into basal rosettes or on the stalk. The simple leaf blades have a smooth margin.

The flowers occur singly or in usually zym÷sen inflorescences. The hermaphroditic, flowers are radińrsymmetrischen (four or more) usually five (or six-or eight-)-merous. The green sepals are fused. The petals are often long-tubular, bell-shaped or wheel-shaped intergrown and may have quite different shades of blue, or they are yellow to whitish. The stamens do not protrude beyond the petals and the stamens are more or less winged. The ovary is above all the time. The style is short or missing.

There are fruits formed capsule containing many seeds. The seeds can be winged or wingless.

In most species the flowers close in cloudy skies and cool air, even when shaken by hail, rain and strong winds.

Hi Janusz

When I looked at the thumbnail I though these might have been morning glory flowers. But they are Gentians. Vivid blue colors & beautiful use of a narrow dof. Tfs!

Hello Janusz, the colour of these flowers is just amazing isn't it?
You have done a good job of magnifying these little beauties, as they really are quite small.
A good composition using a trio. The sharpness is excellent, and a beautiful bokeh as a bonus, good work.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hello Janusz, a very clear bright and focused photo of the lovely blue flowers. I like the shallow DOF and selective focus. IMHO and if I was posting this, I would have dropped the two blue flowers at the top. Otherwise its a great shot TFS

Hi Janusz.

The blue holds the attention from the first moment, your choice of the amount of blooms is a very good balance, and in full light, shows their beauty to the full, very well taken. TFS

> A fine macro, accurate DoF and sharp fine details in the flower!
This is a delicate flower and the subject stands well on the blurry background...
Beautiful colours...!
