[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I had a business trip to our office in San Jose and planned it so that I would at least have a weekend included. On Saturday, I decided to go down to the coast and visit Santa Cruz, Carmel and Big Sur. Especially Carmel was on my list to visit as it was the home of Edward Weston. His grand children still runs a photography art gallery. The gallery has some great prints of past and present photographers, including the famous Ansel Adams.

This is a view from Cypress Point Lookout along the well known and visited 17-miles drive. It was getting closer to the end of the day, and the first of the warmer softer light started to apear. The typical Pacific fog also helped to give this photo something extra. The little G9 did its work perfectly again and produced a perfect exposure.

If you look closely in the bottom left corner, you can even see a seal on the rocks. I only noticed it when I processed the photo and zoomed in to a 100% view.

CARMEL - WAS THIS NOT WHERE CLINT EASTW00D WAS MAYOR?
I ENJOYED THIS COAST SOME YEARS AGO WHEN I VISITED PEBBLE BEACH. YOUR PICTURE ILLUSTRATES SO WELL THE WILD NATURE OF THE COASTLINE.

Hi Niek,
a great sea scape. The rocky shore and the misty mountains adds a special touch to the photo.

Hi Niek.

Here's a funny story.
I used to have a sim golf game a few years ago and the course i loved playing was Cypress Point because of the coastline and beauty. I always wanted to see what it looked like for real. Do I assume i am looking at part of that course or am i totally wromg?

Love the view you show here with the spray in the air, the hazybackdrop adds much perspective and attraction to the foreground. I also like the movement of the water and the amount of white. Very well presented.

Hi Niek

Well balanced photo.
The camera did wonders with the exposure. love the highlights and the shadows. This is a busy image with the wave action in front and the clouds and fog in the back. Cropped well and nice and straight.
Good work Niek

Wow! I can hear the roar of the ocean! I was thinking of making this drive when I visited the Monterey area but I never did. Now I wish I did. Awesome capture with great lighting. Sharp details and wonderful colors. Very well done, tfs.
