Apologies for the lower quality, than usual, but this was taken with a film camera inside a rapidly moving helicopter. The top right includes one of the 2 reasons to come to Yulara, namely Uluru. This scenic 30 minute flight also includes Kata Tjuta.

The fg golf course bottom left is owned by a 5 star hotel. Why anyone would want to play golf in the desert, when there are spectacular national parks to visit, I have no idea. The water for the green lawns is probably groundwater, filtered & evaporated to remove salt & iron, etc. The other buildings are Voyages Pioneer Resort(mid range), & the campground (budget). During peak season, Yulara is the 3rd biggest town in the Northern Territory. Darwin, Alice Springs & usually Katherine in third place. I tried using levels to repair the oe top left corner but was only partly successful. This is also a fault/flaw of using wide angled lenses over a broad lighting range. The diagonal road leads from Yulara to Uluru.

Hi Chris.

What you reckon lacks in quality sure makes up for in quantity. The view is awesome, the detail still is very good, i like the shadows especially with the odd rock in the backdrop lol. I take it its a golf course with many bunkers teheheh, very well taken and shown. TFS

Stv :))

Superb bird eye, Chris.
Great composition that takes into account two parallel diagonals, road and river. Excellent POV and narrow DOF. It is like a beautiful maquette of this scene.
Best rgds,
R.

I guess not much time to arrange the composition if the helicopter is moving. The detail is still enough to enjoy, and I particularly like that hill on the b/g. From the horison, it needs a little cw rotation :)

Bom dia Chris,

Excellent POV, light, colors, contrast and sharpness.
Well done and presented.

Parabéns!

Hi Chris,
Interesting landscape. The overall quality of the image is not great, but still has many things to look at.

Ciao Chris, fantastic POV for a fascinating landscape, wonderful colors, splendid light and excellent clarity, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Hi Chris,

The distance between the golf course and Uluru is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the golf course and of Uluru. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Excellent bird's eye view, I like the S-line of the road and the parallel line of the river

Well Chris this reminds me of your former film camera you had had for a long time and were still using up to quite recently i recall , a bit of a change from your new digital camera of late , you finally gave in to progress , hey hey , well not bad for such type of imaqes from a moving helicopter and later scanned , yep not bad at all really , i like how you present the majestic boulder leaving the view of the plain very wide and as it appears the greener scape seemingly pointing towards the famous rugged attraction in the top corner .
Gee Chris a 30 minute flight over the region must cost a bundle , hey hey , well that must be mind boggling admired from the air how vast and picturesque this place truly is !
One of these days i will see this with my own eyes .
Greetings,
Carol

Hi Chris, well I agree that the quality is not your usual high standards, but then shooting from a fast moving Helicopter with a film camera & having to have it processed then scanned, could have something to do with that.
What is impressive to me, is how your image informs the viewer of the topography of this area,I certainly get a feel for the size of this area & of the famous rock formation in the background. If I had to choose between a man made attraction or a natural one, when it's a visual like this,Nature wins handsdown.Very informative visually.TFS

Ron

Hi Chris,
Sorry for your Picture ,I do not able to do a critique yesterday,:(,

Excellent Point of view and details , lovely golf course and great details of this birdsview,
good tone of colors and light in a sharp presentation,
compliments..
Michel

No apologies necessary for this one. It is wonderful. I guess its a case of familiarity breeds contempt in term of the golf course. People are so familiar with the area they cease to notice it.
TFS

David
