[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Portrait of Mia taken in our studio a little while ago during a shoot as part of a portfolio for a Make Up Artist. During a lull in the portfolio shoot I took the opportunity to take some shots with Black and White in mind for the final image.

Canon 7D
Canon 28 - 105 L

Elinchrom 400 BX Flash with a 5 ft Octobox and diffuser close in and very slightly above eye level to the right. Models head turned to just show her left side eye in the shadows.

Flash set to F6.3 @ ISO 100 using Sekonic Light Meter. F6.3 chosen for a smaller depth of field and just hold her facial plane in focus.

Manual Exposure

Hi Miles

I would just clone out the stray hairs around her neck. Other than that, a perfect portrait! Good dof, sharpness, & tonal range. Tfs! Merry Xmas, btw!

Hi Miles,
Good balance of light and dark, well detailed and a beautiful deep mysterous look.Lovely reflections in her eyes.
