Hi Niek....nice job on the photo. I stood in the same exact place and took a similar photo some years ago. I am amazed you got good weather! Your tones are great and you did a nice job on the light. This is a great place and you captured it well. Nice work.

Very well done. An excellent POV and a very good DOF. Happy capture from colors in a shot neat, clear and all under an amazing lightness.
One best of you.

That's a fabulous snapshot from far far land. I think angular luminosity of the sun is common feature of this location becuase of the curvature of the earth. Nicely chosen PoV to capture reservoir of water and built up area beside it. An impressive photograph, well done. Thanks for sharing.

Not until I opened the thumbnail did I see the village. Super sharp image with great color saturation. This is a keeper for sure. I like the POV of the village nestled in this little harbor the best. Nice work

A beautiful panorama from an agreeable POV with the lake in the FG while a considerable depth can be noticed in your presentation.
Perfect sharpness and light management.
Great color tones and such a neat presentation.

You did great work in this presentation, I almost thought it was shot late around sunset...IMHO I would like to see the detail and color of the left side areas, also I do not know what is that white that is in the lower part of the FG in the water, that could be cloned out...Other wise, just like what Roger said... Nice work. TFS

What an awesome northern landscape!
The small fishing village with its red and white little houses looks like a jewel in his box of blue velvet.
Incredible light surrounding the dark mountains and enhancing the deep blue on sky and inner harbor
The contrast has played strongly on the left side of the image but this adds roughness at this wild landscape.
PS/ Your Web site is full of beautiful photos!

Hi Niek , you are right about the Lofoten rugged mountains rising from the sea , along with the brightly-painted villages scattered along the coast they make the islands such an incredibly worhtwhile destination ,additionally you have the view day and night in late May .Like Roger i also had a shot or two of Reine from a location several meters to the right , some low trees are in the FG instead and a more open view to the left .
Oh about your image , imo there is too much FG here , this would benifit from a crop thus resulting in a more panoramic format , for the better i think . The clarity is good , love the clear blue sky in this , the use of the polariser did help in keeping with glares and flat lighting of midday under control. Not a bad shot overall .
Congratulations on your website Niek , being able to exibit your photography to the world is in my view a great leap forward towards recognition of your talent . Great stuff in there too !

I would crop about half the foreground below the shoreline, but no more than that, as it nicely frames the cobalt blue water & bay. Good sharpness & well managed exposure on the highlights. Tfs!
