The Ötztal Alps are a mountain range in the central Alps of Europe, part of the Central Eastern Alps. They are arrayed at the head of the Ötztal, a side valley of the Inn River southwest of Innsbruck, Austria; the line of summits forms part of Austria's border with Italy. The western border is the Reschen Pass, while on the east the range is separated from the Stubai Alps by the Timmelsjoch. On the south side, the range is limited by the deep Adige valley (Vinschgau).

We reached the peak (by Cable Car) and we had a nice experience of the mountain atmosphere!

Hi Francis

I love the silhouetted figures on the smaller peak at left. Fantastic graphism in this superb b&w image, with a nice tonal range & good sharpness. Tfs!

Really very nice Francis - the B&W image is outstanding! Very sharp, well composed with the ridge running diagonally through the shot. A nice selection of light and tones.

Excellent idea, Francis. You managed to turn a beautiful landscape in a surreal vision from that area of the Ötztal Alps.
Remarkable PP and great capture of the mist rising and mixing with the sky.

Dear Francis

WOW, spectacular shot... very lovely!
The composition is superb and vapor every where
Excellent in black and white and amazing contrast
Well done

There is something almost "other worldly" about this image with the very striking form rendered in a very sharp and high contrast monochrome. Ths angular shapes of the mountains contrast against the hoizontal cloud lines.

Hi Francis
What a great photo ! Contrast is strong with enough subtility to give details in the sky. IMHO, it's perfection !

Ola Francis
I love the powerful perspective of the mpoutain with the silhouettes on the top, all in a strong contrast bettween the dark tones and the high lights.
Great mood, and a great photo.
My compliments, mb

Hello Francis :)

Admirable, spectacular view.
The interesting, original composition in the miraculous light.
The very showy shot, I like him very much!

Best wishes.

Hello Francis, at first when I saw the mist, I thought that it looked like steam rising from a volcano! But I know that there are no volcanoes in Austria!
I like the b/w treatment of this shot, it emphasises the textures of the mountain top and the wispy clouds. The people are nicely silhouetted in the distance. It does not look the easiest terrain to walk across.
Excellent composition.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Looks like those people are looking at the end of the world. Awesome capture and composition especially in B&W. Love the mist or clouds coming out of the mountain. Good pov and dof with excellent contrast. Well done, tfs.

Hi Francis, this is stunning, the b&w and the hdr treatment have really brought out the details and made it into something that really stands out. Fiona

Hi Francis,
It a great presentation and composition of the top of the mountains of Alps,
excellent tone of black & white and contrast,
beautiful landscape and silhouettes too,
very well done.

Hello Francis

Wow.....the contrast in this image is awesome. The low clouds rising up with the silhouettes of the people make for a great composition. A great work

The scene looks somewhat beyond imagination, Francis!

I like this bi-colored work where the dominating B&W colors are making their wonders.
The sharpness and POV are excellent.
A black frame works very well to the overall scene.
Great work as usual!

Have a nice Sunday.
