The Brandberg is a granite massif covering 650 square kilometres in Damaraland and reaching an elevation of 2573 metres above sea level.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

"The name Brandberg is Afrikaans, Dutch and German for Fire Mountain, which comes from its glowing color which is sometimes seen in the setting sun. The Damara name for the mountain is DÔures, which means 'burning mountain', while the Herero name, Omukuruvaro means 'mountain of the Gods'." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandberg_Mountain

This view is from one of the erosion inroads into the mountain.

I like the simplicity of this composition. Great pov and dof with nice details. Very unusual but nice colors. Well done, tfs.

The scan let you down. I can see this as a very vivid photo. With a few small adjustments you'll be able to do much more.

Hope you don't mind the workshop.

Hello Neels

I like the POV and the idea behind the composition. The workshop maybe a little overcooked. maybe somewhere in between on the pp work. An image worth the study

Hi, Neel. Nice composition of the gnarled tree and the mountain. The Low POV brings in so many elements of nature. Simple but elegant composition. Cheers.

Hello Neels,
Texure of this dry tree is looking interesting in this terrain. Amazing color of earth and contrasting with light sky. Interesting PoV. Well done, thanks for sharing this image.

Hi Neels
good presentation of an old slide.
the odd sky color adds some artistic flavor to the image.
the naked tree is clear though, IMHO, placed too high in the vertical composition.

Hoi Neels,
Beautiful landscape, but it makes me a bit thirsty ! ;-)
Colors are great and I can imagine that it is called Brandberg.
But the tree steals the show !
Good capture with a nice compostion.

Hello Neels,

I think this picture is suitable, with a slight soft light.
The stones give a nice perspective in its verticality.
Capture almost subdued colors with the shaft of her naked glory.
Thank you sharing Congratulations
Kind regards.

Hi Neels,
Nice colors, composition and interesting note.
Well done.

Indeed warm image like a "Fire Mountain" also 3DPIC as always by lovely details BRAVO NEELS.

Hi Neels. Nice shot with great tones and colors. Nicely composed.

Hi! Good perspective. Nice colors and tones. Wel done. Regards Csabi.

Hi Neels,
Having lived in Namibia this brings back fondest memories. The vast open plains, the heat and the wild life. Great POV and depth unfortunately the natural colors are slightly off, but that can be expected from old slides, never the less an interesting image.
