It's really too hot and humid at the moment in Dubai to be out and about with a camera... 46c/118F at my house recently (in the shade).

However, I headed out yesterday evening and took a few shots of the northern end of Dubai Marina (The title Marsa being arabic for marina). I have to tell you that I was utterly soaked in sweat after 20 minutes shooting!

From a RAW file - only PP to clone out a few dust spots, otherwise this was an in-camera image. 30 seconds at f13 and 100 ISO

Nice to see you posting again David,I like the sharpness & clarity of your image.Your long exposure time has made the lake appear as though it was covered in ice with the buildings lights reflected on its surface, but at 118F we know that's not possible.I'm impressed with the clarity of the smaller items too, like the white tents near the centre.Super capture.

Hi DAvid,

This is a nice capture from skyline of Dubai with amazing details!
The picture is razor-sharp and clarity is well shown.
Colorful reflections on the surface of the water and motion blur of the water is amazing too.
The sharpness and POV are well done too.

Another amazing job!

Best regards,
Paras

Hi David,
A very sharp and detailed nocturnal shot. The reflection of the lights in the water is fantastic.
Great heat over there, I thought Malta is hot but, indeed, we are cool compared to Dubai.
A nice POV and pleasant to admire.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

OMG, now that is HOT!! I can't imagine.
Believe it or not, when I first looked at the photo, ice and snow came to mind. The rocks look like they could be covered with frost or snow, and the water could be glassy ice. I knew this wasn't the case, but that's what it looked like to me.
Beautiful night time shot, and good on you for getting out there despite the heat. Love the lights and the shimmer on the water (ice), and the purplish color in the sky. Seems like it might have a slight tilt to the left? Just an optical illusion?

Hello David

Awesome capture of this jewel in the Middle East. I really need to work on my night images. You captured a great sky on this one. Will they ever run out on money and quit building. Nice work. How often do you clean your sensor? Seems to be a regular chore any more on my Canon's. Have a nice day

Hello David, I love the smoothness of this shot due to the long exposure, it is a fabulous picture.
The buildings are so clear and sharp, and the lights from the buildings really do light up the night sky adding magic to your shot.
I do not envy the temperatures that you are experiencing! So thanks for braving the extreme temperatures to bring us this shot.
Regards Jean.

Hi David, this is a beautiful night shot, the lights are so clear and I know you said it was hot but the water looks like a sheet of ice with that speed. Fiona

Hi David,
I am really impressed that you went out and took pictures during 20 min in this season. I am just waiting to have clear view and cooler days to go out. Right now, I try to find different compositions from insides of the malls.
this is very nice picture, there are some noise in the sky but it might be the original dust in the air. you did good work.

Bonjour David
I like your pictures of Dubaï and particularly this nocturnal one with the opposition between rough natural foreground and the illuminated neat and precious buildings of the city.Great colours and sharpness...and mastering of the parameters.
Happy to know you can fly again
Best wishes
