[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Yesterday was mostly overcast and I couldn't find too many things to photograph, so I packed up and got in the car to drive off. Then I notice this Cormorant swimming up to the pier at the small marina I was at. There were some teenagers fishing nearby, but it didn't seem to mind. These birds are usually very skittish and will fly off as soon as they spot a human. Well, this one just hopped out of the water and onto the pier. It let me get remarkably close to it, and it never flew off.

Cropped and applied an USM.

Oh Werner, this is magnificent. The detail is just fantastic. Beatutiful color and contrast against a wonderful blurred bg. Great shot! TFS, Lori

This bird is magnificient , what a splendid catch you have got in reserve for us today , never seen anything like this i believe , the orange around the beak and the peculiar blue eye make this specimen very eye-catching to look at . Hi Werner,
This is an excellent capture of a Double-Crested Cormorant. The bird is sharp and colorful. I like your POV and pose of the bird. NIce shallow DOF isolating the bird. Well done Werner.
Regards,
Kevin

Hi Werner

This is an awsome shot of that double-crested Cormorant. The image is very sharp. You captured perfectly the color of its face as well as the blue in its eye. Very sharp details on the feathers of the back and the fan tail.I would have liked to shoot it myself.

Bravo
Serge

Nicely posed, it looks like its waiting for you to take the picture. Very nice details even black feathers. Great framing. Wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

Hi Werner...excellent focus and details..nice separation of the bird from the background.

Roger

Hello Werner,

Wow, this is close!
Your narrow dof has captured its plummage with great accuracy for colour and pattern.
Love how well you have composed it with the bird's eye strongly positioned.

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Werner :)

This cormorant presents oneself wonderfully.
Splendid colours, light and sharpness.
The very showy composition and I like him very much.
I congratulate on realizations!

Best wishes.
Barbara

What a superb catch, Werner!

Great focus on the eye and perfect clarity on the body of the bird.
I like the color contrast between the dark bird and a comparatively softer BG.
The sharpness and POV are well chosen, where you positioned the bird beautifully in a natural frame.
Well taken!

Greetings,
Paras
