[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I shot this pic a few days ago at a local park. This is a little House Finch that shared the feeder with about 30 other birds this day. I had no idea how quick these birds can be until I tried to take these pics. I really liked the colors on these House Finches. As we are still waiting on the arrival of Spring these colorful birds really stood out.

For this shot my camera was mounted to my tripod. I used my Tamron 70-200mm lens at a full 200mm. I set the SS to 1/500, aperture to f5.6 and ISO to 160. In PP I decreased contrast and sharpness in BG to let the bird stand out a little more, I increased vibrance and contrast slightly in the bird. I adjusted levels to my liking and added some vignette. Lastly I resized and sharpened. I'm just learning to shoot these birds so any feedback is much appreciated.

Fantastic shot Kevin! WOW! Excellent detail and I love the BG in this! Excellent DOF! I wish I could get shots like this! But I have too many cats in my yard! haha! I probably need to go to a sanctuary! This is super nice!

I really like this.
It brings back memories of Chinese silk pictures.
You have a lovely sharp exposure, capturing the plummage and the features really well. Even the dappled, angled twig looks great in the context.

Hi Kevin,

Well composed, excellent soft tone and very lovely bird with colorful body! The whole is harmonized well by good composition and excellent color balance, so it keeps a good balance for twig to which Finch is sitting and trunk of tree on the left side. It is a gentle photograph with atmosphere that seems to be the season of spring though it's better to apply the focus a liitle more to the bird as a personal favor.

A wonderful action shot, very beautiful composition with the bird and the branch.
Nice sharpness beautiful and very good detail of its plumage, it reminds me a little to the Linnet in Europe. Same plumage color,
