[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this in January at a photo shoot I did to help a friend out. She was putting together a website for a business that she's launching as a hair stylist. For this shot I used a large softbox with an Alien Bee flash unit and a SB900 speedlight with an umbrella and a SB800 speedlight behind the subject.

The wall behind the subject is actually almost white but if you have a powerful flash close enough to your subject, and enough distance between your subject and the wall behind them it's easy to make a white wall look almost black, as I did here. The reason for that is the fact that light falls off very quickly.

We used a large piece of foam board as a makeshift fan to blow the subject's hair.
