Street life in Taiwan is very interesting, people are everywhere... all ages... and they enjoy the daily street life (shopping, eating, walking, chatting...)
This old man was on his motorized 'wheel-scooter-chair' buying custard apples in a fruit stand and talking to the tea shop owner on the other side of the road.

Used 300mm FL to get a close up shot, ISO-400 and manual settings. Widest aperture for this FL is f/5.8 so speed under those light conditions could not be more than 1/320 sec. Maybe I should'be boosted ISO to 800 to get a faster speed... and avoid some motion blur, but is not very bad and I like it somehow like this; and timing is quite good as well :)

PP: convert to .jpg, resize, sharpen and boost a little the contrast and saturation.

PS: I am looking forward to get a new camera and lens, this 55-300mm lens' quality is not as expected as you can see, especially under not perfect light conditions... Lack of sharpness which forces me to sharpen and have noisy images. Any suggestions?

this is a grt street life image excellent detail and a well captured moment
tfs regards bryan

I love these scenes of everyday life. ... I'm sure here are very interesting characters there as you said. You've captured him at a good moment, however, as you say it's very grainy throughout, and not that sharp either.
I still like the photo though
Have a great wknd/

Hi Galder Jon,

I like street scenes like this. The gentleman's expression and gesture is interesting, full of life. For good or bad, I'm going to agree with you on a couple of things. One, it would be nice if the photo were sharper. Secondly, it is a bit too grainy. Sometimes that works to benefit a photo under the right circumstances. Thirdly, if you are happy with the photo, that's all that really matters ;))

As far as your lens and camera is concerned, you are just one member of a very large group. Fast glass is expensive, just as the professional grade DSLRs. Buy the best you can afford and try to work it to your best advantage.

Best regards,
Werner

Hi, Galder. The upshot for this photo is expression which is superbly caught by your camera. It is a little grainy but frankly it does not distract from the main theme. I did a workshop to prove my point. This could be classified in Photojournalism.Composition and the informative note is appreciated very much. Cheers.

Hi Galder,
I like the posture of this speaker in a public meeting. Yes, I agree with you I think the quality of the lens that lacks clarity.
This is real Photojournalism!
I did a WS where I tried to minimize the noise with adapting Orton effect...it's a software to mend old and not sharp photos.
Composition is perfect.
My regards,

Francis Xavier
