COSMOS PRODUCES COSMIC BEAUTY
Cosmos plants can produce “showy flowers” in an “orderly arrangement of cosmic proportions”. Spanish priests grew cosmos in their mission gardens in Mexico. The evenly placed petals led them to christen the flower “Cosmos,” the Greek word for harmony or ordered universe. Cosmos, like many of our warm weather annuals such as marigolds, originated in Mexico and South America.

Cosmos belongs to that vast family of plants known as Compositae. Although there are 20 known species of cosmos, two annual species, Cosmos sulphureus and Cosmos bipinnatus, are most familiar to home gardeners. These two species are most easily differentiated by leaf structure and flower color. The leaves of C. sulphureus are long, with narrow lobes and hairy margins. The flower colors of this species are always shades of yellow, orange or red. The C. bipinnatus has leaves that are finely cut into threadlike segments. The foliage looks similar to ferns. The flowers are white or various shades of pink to dark rose.

Hi Muhammad,
A nice off-center core of this cosmos flower in such an attractive composition.
A very sharp macro shot and an adequate crop.
Nice soft colors and contrast is still there!
Well seen and presented to us in such a neat manner.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

What a beautiful macro capture from a Cosmos flower with such nice details from its open heart, Muhammad!

The colors are fantastic and clarity is amazing.
The sharpness and POV are well chosen, keeping the heart of the flower slightly off-centered was indeed a good decision. Well seen!

Have a nice weekend.

Best regards,
Paras

Cosmic shinny rays are so beautiful and prominent radiating from the central yellow crown of the flower.
lovely photograph.

Hi Muhamamd,

I so much like cosmos as a gardener's flower. I have no complain about the central composition. It works well here to see the awesome pink and symmetry. Well done MF.

nice image, really beautiful
great use of central composition to enhance details and abstraction
maybe a tighter crop on the right part would've helped slightly.
a great image Muhammad, it is talented and skillful.
best regards
